Here is a short history of the gaming console market, which I put together in 2010 for a special event at A2M (now Behaviour Interactive).
Connoisseurs will undoubtebly realize that some pretty awesome machines are notably absent from the list (FM Towns Marty, Daewoo Zemmix, UltraPongs, etc); with such a rich history of electronic literature, I was forced to make choices and I ultimately went for the most relevant candidates. The research and writing proved to be extremely enlightening for my own understanding of the craft, and I have been hooked up on video game culture and history ever since.
